I've taken the high speed trains between London & Paris (eurostar) and Brussels & Paris (Thalys).

The rail service is...

comfortable - roomy individual seats in modern cabins, you can get up and walk about... get a drink in the snack car

efficient - point-to-point service between major european cities in 3 hrs, easier to work on laptop

convenient - better than taking a flight, the stations are in the heart of the city with easy connections to local transportation, multiple trains/day

fun - the trains run at over 180mph on parts of the route, can enjoy the scenery

highly recommended...

The trains are great, i was a first time traveler this summer and it was convenient and comfortable. The people who worked there helped us out and made sure we had a seat even though my group(8 ppl) was constantly late for our originaly scheduled train. All our luggage fit and arrived with us to our destination. The only problem i had was going from Brusselles to Amsterdam the high speed Thalys was over 3 hours late and we ended up taking a regular train.
