When are you coming? When my family came over from New york last year I was very busy and couldn't really show them around. I found a company I think they are called 'Think Concierge' who were able to help them out finding places, arranging tours and accommodation for trips around england. Basically they sorted everything out and they seemed to have an answer for everything.

There are plenty of tour companies in London when you get here if you are happy with that but if you want to get a very personal welcome and don't know anyone in London then i'd suggest dropping these guys an email. They seem to have hook ups as well becuase I use them regulary to get me sold out tickets.

*EDIT*

The website is www.thinkconcierge.com

These guys aren't really a travel or tour agency but they are kinda like vitual personal assiants than can find do specific things your request. If you tell them you want a hotel near certain things they can spend an hour or so finding out which one matches you.

The beauty is they work for you so all there advice is unbiased.

This is a common question and it has an equally common answer. Do the open top bus tours when you arrive.

It tours all the main sites, gives you an audio commentary as you go and the ticket lasts 24 hours so you can hop on and off wherever and whenever you like.

Most are also combined with a river cruise on the Thames so that pretty much covers everything in a flash!

You can then decide what you want to see on more detail
