How come j. k. rowling only wants british or people from that region to play roles in the potter series? Doesn't she want to have other people like americans to explore and play the roles?

Because she is British, the movie is British and the accent of the people playing the roles ( the book is British too, of course) should be obviously British as well. I think it makes perfect sense. It would be like asking: Why do British play roles in Pride and Prejudice? Or Sense and Sensibility? It's not about the fact that she has a problem with Americans, that's just the way it should be. Do you expect to see white and blond Brit people in original American movies where every one is black? Do you see them playing? You don't.

sounds like relaxing. Is Jo going to p.c.. a winner? :D severe ones: Harry Potter and the mirror of choose Harry Potter and the secrets and methods of Slytherin Harry Potter and the mistaken identity Harry Potter and how forward for the Winner Harry Potter and the needs of Prophecy Harry Potter and the Whispers from the previous Harry Potter and the suitable tale. (or, Harry Potter - while All Is At Stake) humorous ones: Harry Potter and the pungent Turban-Wearer Harry Potter and the hyped up action picture star and the Creepy bathing room Ghosts. Harry Potter and the top mixture-Up (playstation They finally get the Quidditch Cup this time) Harry Potter and the fool Insider (yeah, why did not he purely turn Harry's socks into Portkeys?) Harry Potter and Rebellious young babies Annoy the crimson B-instructor. (no because of the fact of Dumbledore, you secretive old guy) or alternately: Harry Potter and Why Taking concerns into your own arms is a bad concept. Harry Potter Makes each and all the Shippers Cry and would not wreck any Horcruxes Harry Potter turns into heavily Bada.ss and Kicks Butt while he's not camping out. (crucio, toddler!) (alternately, Harry Potter and Dumbledore's previous Comes returned and Kicks Your Butt) wish you enjoyed it :D LuthienX Deep Blue, you made me giggle SO problematical. "All solutions may be got here upon in the lavatory?" WIN!

Because she wants the best and make lots of money. If she wants to make a film that sucks and ruin the books for good, she would have got American 'actors'. If you need proof of this just rent American films of Great British classics, there are no shortage of these unfortunately

I agree with the asker. It is incredibly short sighted.
There are very fine actors and actresses from other countries who could play the roles.
(Just to make the point ... the definitive version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice was the 1995 BBC version, with Jennifer Ehle (pronounced ee-lee) as Elizabeth Bennet. Ms Ehle was actually born in Winston-Salem in North Carolina USA).

i think British people fits well in the movie.
it doesn't mean that Americans are not good.
whom ever it may be,the point is to choose the best faces.
i think all the kids chosen for the movie are perfect.
hats off to all the directors.
especially Dan,Emma ,Rupert, tom are born to fit these roles.

Because she's from Britian, it only makes sense. That's where the story originates, so it would sound awful foolish if Harry had a Brooklyn accent, wouldn't it?
