You can get to France and Belgium using the Eurostar train from London.

In London you could go on a tour with a guide to familiarise yourself with the city and find out from them where else to go. Depends what you like doing and how old you are. Camden Market is good place to visit, but there are plenty of others.

Yes Brighton is nice and is only 52 minutes by train from London Victoria. Advance purchase fares start from £3 one way www.southernrailway.com. Eurostar trains run direcr from London St Pancras to Brussells (just over 2 hours) and Paris 2 hours 20 minutes

with onward connections to other parts of Europe. www.eurostar.com.

Within London there is a dense frequent network of Underground trains/suburban trains/buses/trams/light rail Cash fares are very expensive. Buy an Oyster Card (not valid on most suburban rail) or

a Travelcard valid on the whole system; these are available in daily, weekly or monthly form. You will get long lists of beautiful places to visit in England from other answers here or from guidebooks, but one

frequently overlooked place as far as tourists go is Ludlow in Shropshire and the surrounding South Shropshire Hills. www.ludlow.org.uk

Check out the London Tourist website for things to do. With regards to other countries, yeah a train to Paris is about 4 to 5 hours. 2 to 3 hour flights you could get to Barcelona, Milan, Prague (just) and just over an hr flight get to Dublin and/or Holland. Check out easyjet website for cheap flights! Elsewhere in the UK, Cornwall is nice if sun is out (3 to 4 hr train) as is Brighton (under 2hrs) and most of the south coast! Warn ya though that trains are expensive....probably fly to Spain for cost of a train ticket to Cornwall

Transport and traveling in London and England is of the best in the world, with their public transport system. What and when to see where, is dependent upon the time you are there. Everything you can think of is in London or nearby, even Paris. (passport/visa needed) Ask any reception at a decent hotel.

Peace.

London is the perfect. purchase an Oyster card for basic vacationing, examine out the Oyster card web page for the thank you to apply it, holiday card and fare expenditures, etc. All buses, trains, and tube trains use Oyster so which you will no longer have a topic. it would be a physically powerful thought to purchase a map - in specific situations it is swifter or a minimum of extra scenic to stroll between places, particularly those in substantial London. The tube map in many circumstances makes places look a procedures aside whilst they do no longer look to be in any respect, so evaluate strolling instead of taking the tube or a bus to get a physically powerful go searching London. Taxis quite are not needed in my opinion. in terms of pickpockets/thieves, I unquestionably have lived in London all my existence and have by no skill been %. pocketed or robbed or something. in simple terms confirm you're clever and keep an eye fixed on your assets, do no longer go away telephones or wallets on your wallet in case you are able to help it, because of the fact thieves like busy trains and buses. Use a secure bag, with a zipper or positioned valuables in an interior pocket. yet quite no longer something undesirable has ever got here approximately to me so i do no longer think of you are able to desire to be afflicted lots. At rush hour the tubes can get quite quite packed, and fares are extra costly, so in case you're claustrophobic, attempt to dodge public delivery between approximately 4 and 7pm, and eight and 10am. pass to the museums, they're stunning. The Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A), the technology Museum and the organic historic previous Museum are all interior of a few seconds stroll of one yet another and are all loose. particularly nicely worth a speedy holiday, you do no longer could desire to spend the full day at a museum to get finished leisure out of it. additionally pattern a number of our pubs, they seem to be an incredible thank you to take a smash from strolling around! ingredients and drinks could be costly at posh gastro pubs, however the ambience is superb. maximum pubs are mid selection expenditures, and there is often Wetherspoons (a series of pubs) it is plenty extra low-fee yet nonetheless a superb place to pass. stroll alongside the river at nighttime, between vast Ben (Westminster station) and St. Paul's Cathedral (seen from maximum places alongside the embankment). The lights fixtures are outstanding and there are dissimilar superb bridges you are able to pass to get an exquisite panoramic view. i can't think of of the rest stunning now, i'm hoping you have a superb holiday!
