me and a friend want to visit london for 4 nights at the end of august and anyone know a good website for cheap hotels near london? we don't mind travelling into the centre.
we'll be traveling from manchester to london Euston.
The only cheap hotels ive found are Formule 1 Hotels and Etap which are both good but a bit far away from london and the train station.
being students we're trying to make the trip as cheap as possible like booking landmarks like the london eye before we go

any help welcomed =]

The generator hostel (800 beds) is within walking distance of Euston. It's a decent walk to the center, or a few underground stops.

----

Generator is about 22.5-25.0 pounds for a bed in a room of usually 8 people, They charge 100-120 pounds for a private room that sleeps 4. Since there are only two of you that is a bit steep unless you go with 1 or 2 more friends.

--------

Imperial is a collection of 6 hotels also within walking distance of Euston. They are very very old buildings. The cheapest (County) has shared bathrooms in the hall, but at least you get your own sleeping quarters.

--------

There are some smallish hotels in old townhouses on Cartwright Avenue, and Gower street that are a short walk. I've stayed on cartwright street, and its very pleasant. These are old old buildings from the 18th century. Not as super cheap as hostels, but not that expensive.

=========

The "Strand Palace" is a low price, but not super cheap hotel That is about 2 miles from Euston station. Although a little more money than the other locations, it will save you a lot of walking or time on the underground. You are surrounded by some of the most expensive hotels in London.

Last summer me and my mom stayed in president hotel IN Lodnon. I think it was Russell Square station. It was lyk 3 min walk to the station. It was very close to the center and it was very easy to travel in London. It was a nice hotel. It was much cheaper than other hotels. When we got there I seriously expected a tiny shower, and a dirty room. Bt it was very different. Bathroom was very big and the room was very clean. And it had a very nice view of the city. The room even had a tv! I just luvd London so much. It is my fav city. I got to ride on the 2 floored bus lyk 2 times!!!!

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
